Everyone deserves personal space as a human being, Your personal space can say a lot about you, what you like, how you function- it can even give a few details of how your brain is. Nice and organized, or scattered and all over the place. As of late, I've been investing into my personal space. I work a lot from home and I wanted my room to be comfortable, inviting and warm. Your house should be a place to go to relax, unwind and keep you peaceful and that's exactly what I wanted.
First thing I had to do was organize my life! I am a collector of all things, I don't know why, I just have lots of "things". Using mason jars and makeup cubbies have helped me organize my things, but I still have a long way to go! Removing clutter from your space can be like breathing again with fresh air. This also allows you to think clearly and stay focused on tasks at hand.
Adding decor was my next step. I needed something that would make me smile, a few pictures of inspirational images and various statues did the trick. It added life to my space, and made it more familiar. Another important "space" tip is to always have at least one living thing in each room. This can be as simple as a plant or a goldfish, (not including dead flowers, dead flowers represent darkness and death , and should be thrown out).
Finally a paint job. A paint job can change the whole feel of a room, leaving it refreshing, energetic and invigorating to the senses. You can use a color chart to see what colors give off what energy and find a hue that works for you.
Hopefully this helps you create a more enjoyable at home environment, remember, your home is supposed to be a refuge, wouldn't you like to enjoy how you feel there and feel creatively, emotionally free as well?
