Going Natural With Friends
How many of us wish we had friends to help us through our natural hair journey? How much easier it would have been to have that support system, or even someone to share products with? Unfortunately, most women don't have a natural hair partner to encourage their journey. In fact, we end up surrounded by people who discourage our choice and ridicule it. We've all heard the jokes, they're tired, recycled and just plain old. My advice to you is to surround yourself with like-minded people. Going natural is a beautiful thing, and if that is what you want to do, don't allow others to make you feel bad for embracing you. For me, going natural was a lifestyle change. I changed the way that I looked at myself and the way I look at others. My entire perception of beauty changed, and I haven't looked back since. I've encouraged women near and far to go natural, and they love it, which makes me love it more. Going natural was a big step for me in moving towards self love, self acceptance and stopping myself from being who other people want me to be. It's more than just hair, it's become a crown for me. It was the first step towards me becoming Mahogany Queen and encouraging other women to believe that they are queens themselves.
